Learning to Drink

How to Cocktail

I’m a grown-ass adult with a baby, so it’s high time I learned to make cocktails. Dumping an unspecified amount of vodka into a diet coke just isn’t going to cut it anymore.*

I acquired America’s Test Kitchen How to Cocktail from the library and am going to do a new cocktail every week. We already have whiskey so I started with whiskey drinks.

*lol just kidding I still like that

Whiskey Sour

10/10. Easy to drink and I love the mOutHfEeL and foam of the egg white—I thought it would be weird but it’s not.

Obviously I had to get coupe glasses for this endeavor and obviously I had to buy a full dozen because I got a good deal from a restaurant supply store. I’ll have to start drinking all my beverages—5 ounces at a time—from these glasses for the fanciness and to use ’em all.

Reverse Manhattan

5/10. It’s a Manhattan but you flip the sweet vermouth and whiskey. It was “OK” but I didn’t love it.

Bren tested it out and liked it better than I did so I just let him drink it. 🙂
