I impulse bought some elderberry syrup at the Polish deli…because I thought it was black currant syrup. 🙂 I just saw the czarnego—black—and a label with berries on it and asked no further questions.

I don’t hate this cocktail but I don’t love it; I think I just wish it was black currant.

• 2 oz gin (I used Empress for maximum purple)
• 1 oz elderberry syrup (Bren thought this was too much, so maybe 0.75 is better)
• 1 oz lemon juice
